We are excited about the new school year and ask that you take a minute to read about the CVG - PTA and accept our invitation to join!
The CVG PTA plans fun family events, funds school activites and purchases necessary items for the school. Last year the PTA planned several family nights such as Reptile Man, Math Night, Winter Ball and Bingo Night. The PTA also organized school activities such as Wee Deliver, 5th grade graduation and the year book. The funds for these activities are raised primarily through our fall fundraiser but we organize other fundraisers such as box tops, escripts, smencils sales, carnival raffle, ect. to help support activities as well as purchase items for the school. Last year we were able to purchased 6 computers for the computer lab, fund the transportation for the class field trips, help teachers with classroom expenses, purchased educational software for the classrooms and purchased many miscellanous items for our staff and students. We also organized a Scholastic Book Fair and Used Book Fair which earned money to buy new books for our school library.
We are planning many of the same activities for this year along with a few new ones. We would love to have you get involved with the PTA. Any amount of time you can give to your school benefits our students and teachers and is greatly appreciated. We want you to be involved as much or as little as you want and participate in activities that you enjoy. There are many ways that you can be involved:
- Attend PTA meetings which are held the second Monday of every month (starting in October) in the CVG Library at 6:30. Child
care is provided.
- Work a game booth at the carnival or help make decorations for the carnival.
- Help kids shop or run a register at the Book Fair, Holiday Store or Used Book Sale.
- Take pictures at events for the yearbook.
- Chair or co-chair an event. No experience is required to chair or co- chair an event. Your PTA officers and past chairs are
always willing to answer any questions you have.
- Help set up or decorate before an event or help clean up after.
- Give us ideas that you have for family nights, fundraisers, teacher support, ect. YOUR INPUT IS WANTED and greatly appreciated!
Please join us at our first PTA meeting and see what we're all about. Whether you are able to volunteer extra time or not, we still need and want your input at our meetings.
Thank you!
